24 Oct |
The 41st annual Tokyo Motor Show opens to the public today. There are some mixed feelings about this event. On the one hand, it was a little sad to see that the number of participants in the show this year was lower than ever before. On the other hand, it was really neat to see the eco-friendly, forward-thinking technology and design that was exhibited by those manufacturers who did opt to participate in the event.
Toyota is a good example of a company that showed off some neat cars. They displayed the first Toyota model vehicle that is powered by Lithium Ion batteries. The company also used the event to premier two brand new vehicles made with Toyota genuine parts: the FT-86 Concept which is a lightweight four-seater sports car and the FT-EVII Concept which is a small electric vehicle for urban drivers. These are no boring Toyota Corolla Parts that we’re looking at; they’re cutting edge green technology efforts by the company.
The event itself was focused around this green theme. It wasn’t just about being green, though. It was about being green while still having a fun car to drive. The participants that did show at the event are all making fun designs that keep the earth in mind. The show runs through November 4th.
